Homemade Peppermint Mocha Syrup

Peppermint Mocha seems to be THE flavor this winter. And for good reason, too; it's yummy! I was seriously mourning when the last of my half pound of peppermint mocha coffee dribbled into my mug last week. It had been a gift and I'm just too cheap thrifty to buy more. What's a Mama to do? After a couple days of bumming, I came up with a solution. I made my own syrup to flavor coffee, hot chocolate and even milk. Peppermint Mocha Syrup is soooo good and easy to make.

Peppermint Mocha Syrup
1 Cup of cocoa powder
1 C. sugar
2 C. brewed coffee (I used decaf)
4 candy canes, crushed

In a medium sauce pan combine all ingredients with a whisk over medium-high heat.
Stir occasionally until it comes to a boil. Turn down heat and let simmer until all of the candy pieces have dissolved. Store in the fridge until needed!

See, simple to make and great to enjoy. It would also be great over ice cream or in milk shakes. Hope you like this and have a great day!

Many Blessings,
Kelly
